Some shows build a fan base slowly, one unsettling episode at a time. Yellowjackets did exactly that, mixing a survival story, psychological horror and a coming-of-age drama into something that never felt quite like anything else on television. Now the end is near. The fourth and final season premieres on Paramount+ on Friday, November 20, available to subscribers on the Premium plan.
The official description promises that rescue will not solve anything. The survivors race to bury their sins before help arrives, while an old flame returns to town with plans of her own. The press notes put it simply: not every homecoming is a joyous one, and this one is going to sting. As before, the series moves between two timelines, the teenagers stranded in the northern wilderness after a plane crash and the adult women almost twenty-five years later.
Creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson are back to finish the story they began. The ensemble includes Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Hilary Swank, among many others. A complete overview of the cast, the logline and how to catch up is available in this Yellowjackets final season guide.
In our directory, this is the farewell worth marking on the calendar. The heart of the show has always been the gap between who these women were on that high school soccer team and who they became after the crash. A final season has the chance to close that gap and answer the questions fans have debated for years.
If you have fallen behind, there is still time. The earlier seasons are already streaming, so a catch-up before the premiere is very doable.
