Someone Else Is Playing Lupin: What to Expect From Part 4 on Netflix

Heist stories usually ask how the thief will pull it off. The new season of Lupin asks a better question: what happens when the master thief is not the one doing the stealing? Part 4 lands on Netflix on Friday, October 23, 2026, with all eight episodes released at once, ending the longest break fans have had between chapters.

The story picks up four years after we last saw Assane Diop, again played by Omar Sy. He is in prison and, for once, content to stay there. He has put the Lupin persona behind him and wants to keep a simple promise to his son, a trip together to meet their family in Senegal. That plan falls apart when a message signed “Lupin” announces simultaneous robberies at several Paris museums. Every theft goes ahead despite heavy security, and the evidence, including footage from one break-in where Captain Belkacem is seriously injured, points at Assane. The only way to clear his name is to escape and become the gentleman thief one more time.

Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab and Shirine Boutella are all back, while Théo Christine and Laïka Blanc-Francard join the cast. Sy now shares showrunner duties with Louis Leterrier, which suggests the star has a strong hand in where the story goes next.

Cast details and the full premise are laid out in this Lupin Part 4 preview.

Our directory pick: eight episodes fit neatly into one weekend, and the copycat angle gives longtime viewers something genuinely new to solve. If your memory of Part 3 is hazy, spend twenty minutes on a recap first, because the opening episodes reward people who remember where Assane left off.
