No, Blizzard and Google aren’t required to keep their services online. No, this isn’t the first time a major corporation has opened a trap door under a game and made it disappear forever. And, yes, Google refunding people is a pleasant surprise. But in both cases, these are broken promises to fans who paid for something. Overwatch was hugely successful. Stadia was made by a company so large it’s nearly impossible to not use their services in one form or another. These aren’t broke kids – they’re not even Square Enix spinning out because one of their best-written, critically-acclaimed games didn’t do Final Fantasy numbers .

Leliana may seem rather gullible at first glance, but it’s clear that this Orlesian Bard’s past is darker than she lets on. Thankfully, teaming up with the Grey Warden allows her to overcome these burdens and fully invest in a fight to save the world. The fact that this character has appeared in a major role across multiple Dragon Age games is a testament to her iconic nat

It’s been a strange week of ups and downs for Sonic. Netflix announced that its upcoming 3D animated series will be called Sonic Prime and is coming to the streaming service in 2022. Meanwhile, several long-time voice actors from the series revealed that they won’t be returning to their signature roles. Roger Craig Smith , Colleen O’Shaughnessey , and Cindy Robinson have revealed that they won’t be returning to voice Sonic, Tails, and Amy in Sonic Prime. Luckily, Eggman voice actor Mike Pollock has confirmed that he will continue to voice the villain in video games but did not confirm whether he would perform Robotnik in the Netflix Ser

Recent job listings indicate that WBIE is working on a variety of new games, so it’s possible we haven’t seen the end of the Nemesis System entirely. Whether the mechanic shows up in another Middle-Earth sequel or perhaps in the upcoming Harry Potter game is unknown, but what is known is that few, if any, developers will get the chance to use the Nemesis System in other games — at least until the patent expi

Sojourn’s weapon is a railgun, which has two different firing functions. It can either be used as an automatic weapon to fire quickly, or the player can choose to fire powerful projectile shots that most likely do increasing amounts of damage depending on how much they’re charged. This means that Sojourn is likely to be a DPS hitscan and projectile hybrid h

Endwalker will feature two new job roles, though only one has been revealed so far. The Sage is a new healer-type that protects party members using barriers. While the other new role wasn’t detailed, director Yoshida revealed that it would be a melee DPS class. Other additions in the new expansion include a higher level cap, new areas to explore, and a new tribe of Beastmen called the Arkasodara tribe of the Mata

Sojourn is a decorated Overwatch member, as a result of her involvement in a ton of missions. She led a strike team against Talon forces without mercy and participated in the Storm Rising archives mission by acting as the guiding force for the team itself. It seems like she might be taking on Ana Amari’s old role as a commanding member in the fact

But by essentially disabling the first Overwatch, Blizzard is fucking over people who paid money for the game. It doesn’t matter if they get free content for owning the first game – it doesn’t mean anything if you can’t still play original content you specifically paid for. I don’t care if Overwatch 2 is bigger and badder than ever before! When I buy a game, I’d love to be able to play that game. And if you’re shutting down a game’s online capabilities, at least be honest about it. Don’t talk like you’re doing people some grand favor.

Square Enix revealed the next Final Fantasy 14 expansion during a livestream event yesterday. Called Endwalker , the expansion is set to conclude the current storyline and move the MMO into the next

Last week, a YouTuber called Graslu00 uploaded footage from a canceled GoldenEye 007 remaster on the Xbox 360. The game was developed in 2007, but according to the Xbox boss Phil Spencer, became locked in a complicated legal limbo over the rights to James Bond. Between Microsoft, Nintendo, and EON (the owners of the James Bond license), it was simply too difficult to come to an agreement on business terms, and the game was eventually shelved. Graslu00, whose video shows the game in its entirety, was cagey on where the new footage came from, saying only “patience is k

Even when (mostly) paying people back for their purchases on Stadia, Google is still showing it barely cares about its users. Not every game will allow saves to transfer. Hell, some games specifically designed for Stadia are now in limbo. Quick reminder – the people on the ground making these games are often creative folks who just want to bring something nice to the world. I’m not criticizing the engineers who made Stadia work or the artists and designers who make Overwatch 2 skins look and play brilliantly. They deserve praise and probably better pay. Which, again, is funny considering these are all greedy companies sucking in dollar bills.
